Collaboration and Co-operation by Wendy H. Jones

One of the benefits of being a member of an organisation such as The Association of Christian Writers (to whom this blog belongs) is the opportunities it affords. These include Writers Days where members meet up and learn from experienced and inspiring speakers. Local groups allow members to meet up in their local area, and provide invaluable support for each other. Many members will get feedback on their work and advice on how changes can be made. This sort of collaboration and peer feedback is like Gold Dust. I am fortunate to be the leader of the only group in Scotland and this allows me to help and support others as well as recieve support from them.

The ACW Facebook group is another way in which members cooperate to support each other and their work. As an organisation it is all about giving of yourself and receiving from others.

If you would like to know more about the Association you can do so on the Association of Christian Writers Website

However, there are other ways in which members collaborate. One example is the business partnership formed between myself and writing tutor and acclaimed podcaster, Andrew J. Chamberlain. Together we have formed Equipped to Write, a writing and marketing, coaching and training company. We met at an ACW Writers Day and found we had a mutual love for helping others on their writing journey. You can find out more on the Equipped to Write Website

We are excited to be running A Writer's Jumpstart, our first Writers Conference, on 11th November in central London. The union Jack Club at Waterloo in fact. You can't get much more central than that. You can receive a 10% discount on the day by using the code E2WTEN at the checkout. This promises to be a cracking day, and move your writing journey from steam train to bullet train.

I would like to finish by saying it is an absolute honour to be a part of the ACW. It is an organisation I believe in, so much so I am the webmaster and blog organiser for the association. I have gained more from my membership than I could ever have imagined. Without the support I have received, and receive every day, I would not be where I am today.

  1. The Writer's jump start day sounds amazing, Wendy. Unfortunately I have a church study day that day. Maybe you can do it again before too long?
